Have you met Katie? She’s our newest yoga instructor and she teaches a broad range of classes. Right now, she is teaching in the evenings and even has a class for youth! The wonderful thing about yoga is that everyone has their own styles, so it’s a great idea to try them all. In order to get to know Katie a little better, we decided to do an interview for you. Enjoy!

Cupping. If you’ve heard of it, you probably picture Olympic athletes (like Michael Phelps) with giant red circles on their skin. Beyond that, you likely haven’t given it much thought. So what is it? Why do people use it? And, how can it help you?

For years, women (and men) have looked at the scale to determine their health. We are given an “ideal” weight that we need to attain (even doctors use BMI based strictly on your weight to height ratio). This focus is unhealthy and causes us to seek something that may not even be physiologically possible.

Valentine’s Day — the day of love. Everywhere you look, you see hearts and couples and romance. It is absolutely wonderful, but why is it limited to just romantic love? Lately, Galentine’s Day has made headlines so that women can celebrate their love for their girlfriends and it’s great to turn the focus from just couples to the other people in your life! What about taking a day to celebrate self-love? It’s so important to celebrate those around you but equally important to celebrate how much you love yourself.

Every time Paulina walks through the door at Vessel, she is smiling and happy. We love seeing her in classes and her commitment is incredible. This week, we want you all to get to know her a little better. Feel free to say “hi” if you catch her in the studio.
