Valentine’s Treats

Valentine’s Day is next week so of course we wanted to share some of our favorite treats with you! In trying to stay away from refined sugar as much as possible since it is shown to increase inflammation in the body, the following recipes and suggestions are refined-sugar free!

The recipe pictured above has 3-4 ingredients and is a fairly guilt-free treat!

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. of coconut oil
  • 1.5 tbsp. of cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp. of honey
  • flavoring if desired (we used a bit of maple syrup here, but you could do peppermint, vanilla, almond, orange, etc.)

Directions:

Combine ingredients in a sauce pan on low heat. Allow coconut oil to melt and mix everything together evenly. Pour into molds and then put into the freezer for a couple hours! Keep frozen until ready to eat!

We have gathered a few more of our favorites.

As you all know, we LOVE Danielle Walker, and she has a couple Valentine’s goodies on her site. Some goodies include her Gluten Free Sugar Cookies, Gluten Free Strawberry Cupcakes, and Vegan Chocolate Coconut Pudding Pie.

Another site we love is Unbound Wellness. These Paleo Chocolate Raspberry Scones look divine. And, everyone should try these Paleo No-Bake Cake Pops.

Store-bought options are great, too.

For those of you who just really can’t (or don’t want to) make it into the kitchen this Valentine’s Day, but still want some yummy treats, check out Hu chocolate. Unreal has some great options as well! YumEarth has a lot of non-chocolate options for those of you who don’t like it.

While we encourage you not to go *too* sweet crazy this weekend and next week, please take pleasure in giving you and your loved ones some sweet treats. You have our blessing <3
