Member Spotlight: Brittny Starr

Have you all met Brittny? Maybe you’ve seen her adorable children in the Kid’s Club! She loves to bring them as often as possible and she’s a joy to have in classes. If you haven’t had the privilege of taking a class with her, you’re missing out! Let’s learn a little more about her.

Tell us a little about yourself. Name, background, family, etc..

My name is Brittny. I grew up in a small town closer to the Dallas area but went to school at Sam Houston State. Then, I ended up teaching in Dayton and Crosby. That has made the Houston area my home for over a decade now.  My husband works for the Houston Police Department and we have 2 tiny, crazy kids.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to read books where the main character goes on crazy adventures, fighting villains, and saves the day. I live vicariously through my novels! I also love long distance running but have had to learn to love long distance walking as I work on getting my body back to running shape after my last pregnancy.

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? 🙂

My favorite is when I can get a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of chocolate together and mix them up.

Do you have an interesting fact you’d like to share?

My husband and I are high school sweethearts!

What brought you to Vessel Pilates and how did it stand out to you?

I was referred to Vessel by my physical therapist. She knows Jessica personally and knows she and her instructors are well trained and amazing at what they do. I was surprised by the amount of knowledge each of the instructors has which allows them to make sure everyone in class has good form, stays safe, and gets the most out of each workout according to each person’s potential.

How long have you been going to Vessel?

I have been taking classes at Vessel a little over a year now.

How often do you attend classes?

I wish I could be at Vessel every day, but I am usually only able to make it to a couple classes a week.

If you were to describe our studio to someone who had never heard of it, what would you say?

Vessel is the most welcoming, personal, and knowledgeable studio I have been to. I have taken Pilates and yoga classes in college and at larger gyms and my experience at Vessel has been so much better. I love all of the instructors at Vessel, but I especially love the smaller class sizes. It creates a more personal and relaxed class that allows the instructors the ability to monitor everyone carefully, keeping everyone safe and creating more opportunity for each person to grow and reach their fitness goals.
